We've got the scoop on the fascinating past and exciting future of Monster High!
Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue, Cleo de Nile, Deuce Gorgon, Frankie Stein, and Draculaura have had quite the journey. They started as fashion dolls designed by Garrett Sander in 2010 for Mattel.
Around Halloween that same year, they were launched as cartoon shorts, which became television specials, and later gave way to films a few months after when Monster High: Fright On! premiered on Nickelodeon in October of 2011.
Monster High has several video games based on the franchise which were also released in 2011.
Author Lisi Harrison took the crew in a new direction and set them in a different universe when she wrote four installments of a Monster High book series. It explores the characters' struggles with love, their social lives, school, and maintaining their secret monster identities.
Monster High is set to embark on its greatest chapter yet as Clawdeen & Friends get set to start school in a live-action musical movie set to premiere this fall. Skull’s back in session, October 6th, 2022!
